The filters on the units are also a lot less of a hassle because they can be cleaned and reused, unlike standard unit filters.
Probably one of the best things about these units is that they are easy to install. Even if you already have central air, you can have a ductless system installed in your home.
While the upfront cost of these units may run high, in the long run they can save you a lot of money and time spent maintaining a traditional unit.
